Vega is a unique place, not only because of its location and the services offered, but also because of its history; seemingly, every wall softly murmurs, a fascinating story from the past. Built in the 1970\u2019s, Vega Hotel has been part of a large-scale project to develop the northern Mamaia. This was the chosen destination not only for the elite of bygone days, but also for a record number of tourists from all corners of Europe. During the 1980\u2019s, the hotel complex of which Vega was part of, was the most successful in Mamaia. The 1990\u2019s, however, being marked by significant historical events, saw the decline of tourism in general, while the first decade of the new millennium saw the revitalisation of the resort once known as the \u201cpearl of the Romanian coast\u201d. In 2012, Mamaia won the title of \u201cBest Clubbing City\u201d at an international fashion & entertainment awards show in Monte Carlo, an accolade bestowed in previous years upon the likes of Saint-Tropez and Ibiza.<\/p>

Following a thorough process of renovation and modernisation, the Vega Hotel in Mamaia reopened in summer 2008, classified as a luxury 5-star hotel. The entire Vega concept was born of an ambitious project which aimed to redefine quality service on the Romanian coast, whilst offering its guests an unprecedented experience. The contribution which Vega has made to local development was recognized at the Romanian Tourism Gala, where the hotel took the prize for the largest investment on the coast and for the first Blue Flag certified beach in Romania. Thus, the hotel\u2019s history brings it a unique atmosphere: retro, yet contemporary, vintage, yet so up-to-date.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Vega Hotel was one of the locations used in the filming of the Romanian comedy-movie \u00a0milestone: Nea Marin Miliardar. Its stars have passed through here, the rooms of the hotel having been used by these great artists of their age: Stela Popescu, Draga Olteanu-Matei, Sebastian Papaiani, Jean Constantin, Amza Pellea and Sergiu Nicolaescu.
